Body Sculpting Maintenance: 3 Healthy Back-to-School Snacks

Body Contouring West Orange NJ

Body sculpting can help you get rid of stubborn unwanted fat that you’ve been trying to get rid of but have been able to do on your own. One of the things that we tell all of our body sculpting patients is that although you will get real, long-lasting results, you still need to eat well and try to exercise regularly. With back-to-school season here, we thought it would be fun to list some healthy snacks that you can eat without having to worry about weight gain.

Rice Cakes and Nut Butter

Having some almond butter on a piece of toast may sound delicious, but it does have a lot of calories in it. To still get the protein benefits of nut butter without the added calories of bread, try spreading some nut butter on a low-fat rice cake. Rice cakes are low in fat, calories, and pack a yummy crunch that will go perfectly with your nut butter.

Low Fat Popcorn

Movie theater popcorn may be one of the worst (and yummiest) things out there for you, but there’s a much healthier alternative: skinny popcorn. Skinny popcorn usually comes in prepackaged bags, lightly salted, and has about 100 calories per 3 cups, which makes it a tasty and low-fat choice. As a tip, try taking it with you to the movies instead of eating the real stuff; who knows, maybe you will end up liking it better.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Dark chocolate or cacao dipped strawberries are a healthier alternative to cake, cookies, or other high-calorie sweet treats. Just make sure that you only have one or two at a time, because the calories and carbs can still add up.

Being creative when it comes to finding healthy snacks that you enjoy can be a bit tricky. Next time you go to the grocery store, keep these things in mind. To learn more, contact our West Orange office at (973) 243-2300.
